A Letter to the Prime Minister of Turkey
Dear Prime Minister Erdogan,
If you value your relations with the state of Israel it would be wise to start thinking more before you decide to open your mouth!
When Israel began the operation Cast Lead to defend itself from the Hamas bombardment of her southern communities she did so only out of necessity!
The argument of who originally broke the cease-fire can be argued for an endless period of time.
What can be said though is that Hamas dramatically escalated the situation when they declared that they would not renew the cease-fire on the 20th. of December 2008. They then proceeded a daily shelling of the Negev communities of Israel. This reached a climax on the 24th. of December when Hamas fired more than 80 rockets into Israel.
On December 25th. 2008, Prime Mister Ehud Olmert of Israel warned Hamas, the Arab world and the international community on Al -Arbiya that enough was enough "I am telling them now, it may be the last minute, I'm telling them stop it. We are stronger," .
Hamas decided to laugh this off and because of this Gaza paid the price of 1300 dead!
Now Prime Minister Erdogan, you yourself have become no better than the people of Hamas.
You, the leader of a nation that committed the first true act of Genocide in the 20th. century when your nation mass murdered more than a million Armenians have no right to judge Israel! Maybe it is time for Israel to use its influence in Washington to get the Armenian Genocide recognized by the government of the United States of America.
Nor do you have the right to comment on Israeli policies in the territories while Turkey occupies parts of Kurdistan! If it is Turkeys policy to get comfy with Hamas maybe it is time for Israel to recognize Kurdish nationalistic aspirations. Maybe Israel should start getting comfy with the PKK!
Prime Minister Erdogan, you claim that your words and actions are not anti-semitic, are not against the Jews but just the government of Israel. Well I beg to differ.
When you sir go well out of your way and take the side of an organization that is committed to the destruction of Israel you are committing an anti-semitic act. When you demand to have Israel banned from the UN for defending her citizens as your country has many times against the Kurds you are acting in an anti-semitic fashion.
Most of all when you equate Israeli actions in Gaza with Genocide and war crimes you are being completely anti-semitic and hypocritical!
You sir would be wise to watch what you say about your ally Israel, because in the end you might find yourself making an enemy you do not want! The Turkish military values its relationship with Israel far more than it values you and your party as the leaders of the Democratic, secular Republic of Turkey!
